The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a movie that means a lot of things to a lot of people. When groups perform a shadowcast (acting and lip-syncing with the movie as it plays in the background), they bring a culture of community and love with them. This cult classic holds a deep cultural meaning and celebrates sexual liberation, queer identity, and the embracement of nonconformity.

On the 50th anniversary of the movie's release, I was given the chance to photograph Ball State's shadowcast performance. Being able to capture all that love and passion was an opportunity I'll never forget.
